Additional Options
Include end date
Checking Include end date in calculation counts the final day in your result.
For example, if you want to count how many working days you have available to complete a project, this should be checked. Otherwise, the last day would not be counted.
If the final day of the project is the actual deadline, leave this unchecked to find out the number of full working days that are available before the deadline.
Calculate dates without excluding holidays or weekends
The Date to Date Calculator link takes you to the Date to Date Calculator where you can calculate the number of days between two dates without excluding or counting holidays or weekend days.
Add times
The Add time fields link takes you to the Time Duration Calculator where you can calculate a time span including the time of day. Please note that this calculator does not allow you to exclude or count holidays or weekend days.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is this holiday not included?
If the calculator does not take into account a specific holiday, please first make sure that you have selected the correct country, constituent country, state, or territory under the Days in Results drop-down menus. Click on Change Country or Change State to select a different country or state.
The holiday may also be included in the calculation but not listed in the results because it falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
If you still think that a holiday is missing, please open the country's holiday page by clicking on its name on the holidays overview page. If the holiday is not listed in the table, please let us know.
Why are Easter Monday and the Summer Bank Holiday in the UK not included?
Some holidays in the United Kingdom, such as Easter Monday, are observed in some of its constituent countries only. The Summer Bank Holiday is observed on a different date in Scotland than in the other constituent countries. Both holidays are therefore categorized as “state holidays” in our system, and they are not taken into account unless you click on Change state and select one of the constituent countries where they are observed.
Is it possible to count only workdays?
Yes. In the drop-down menus under Days in Results, select Exclude and Weekends and public holidays.
Is it possible to count only non-working days?
Yes. In the drop-down menus under Days in Results, select Include only and Weekends and public holidays.
What does the option “No days” do?
By selecting Exclude and No days in the drop-down menus under Days in Results, the Business Days Calculator will not distinguish between workdays and non-working days. It will function like the Date to Date Calculator.
The same is true if you select Include only and All days.
Why are the dates deleted when I select a country or state?
This is a known issue, which will be fixed. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Is it possible to print the calendar shown below the results?
You can always print out the page but unfortunately, we don't offer a printer-friendly version yet.
Does the calculator include leap years?
Why are the date fields in the wrong order?
You can change the order of the Day, Month, and Year fields by selecting a different Short Date format in My Units.
Why can I include the end date?
This option allows for different kinds of calculations. For example, if you want to count how many working days you have available to complete a project, this should be checked. Otherwise, the last day would not be counted.
If the final day of the project is the actual deadline, leave this unchecked to find out the number of full working days that are available before the deadline.
Why does the result show the wrong days of the week?
How does your algorithm work? Can you help me program my own?
