Total Solar Eclipse in Europe

A Total Solar Eclipse will take place on Friday, March 20, 2015. While totality will be visible only from two populated areas of Earth – the Faroe Islands and Svalbard, Norway – most of Europe will be treated to a grand partial eclipse, weather permitting of course.

March Equinox on March 20 or 21

This year's March Equinox will also fall on the same day as the Total Solar Eclipse. At 22:45 UTC on Friday, March 20, the Sun will be directly overhead the Equator, marking the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and the first day of autumn (fall) in the Southern Hemisphere. Read more
