Laylat al-Qadr, also known as Shab-e-Qadr, Night of Decree, Night of Measures, is an Islamic observance that marks the anniversary of the night Mohammad received the first verses of the Koran (Qu'ran).
Is Lailat al-Qadr a Public Holiday?
Lailat al-Qadr is not a public holiday. Businesses have normal opening hours.
Many Muslims devote their time to reading the Koran during this period.
