Super Worm Moon in the March Sky

At 17:47 UTC on March 9, the Moon turns full just as it reaches the point on its orbit closest to the Earth. This will make the March Full Moon, traditionally known as Worm Moon, look bigger and brighter, especially during moonrise and moonset. The Moon will look full for a while, so if the clouds clutter your view, just try a few nights before or after.

When will the Moon be visible in my location?

Remember to change your clocks!

On Sunday, March 8, 2020, DST will begin in the US, Canada, and parts of Mexico. Clocks move forward one hour from 02:00 (2 am) to 03:00 (3 am), local time. This is also an excellent time to change your smoke alarm batteries.

Say Hello to Longer, Warmer Days

On March 19 or 20, depending on your time zone, the Sun will cross the Earth's celestial equator, from south to north. For Southern Hemisphere dwellers, this means that fall or autumn is right around the corner, while for Northern Hemisphere residents, spring is about to begin.

How long will Spring/Fall last?
