DST Ends in Europe—Enjoy an Extra Hour!In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 27, 2019, people in most of Europe set their clocks back one hour as Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends. Make sure to spend this extra weekend hour doing something you love! The European Parliament is prepared to scrap DST permanently, so this may be one of the last times the clocks fall back in Europe. US & Canada Fall Back in NovemberPeople in most of the United States, Canada, and Mexico's northern border cities set their clocks back one hour in the early hours of Sunday, November 3, 2019, as Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends. Although most states in the US observe DST in the summer months, there are a few areas where the clocks never change. Watch Mercury Transit the Sun on November 11—12When Mercury passes in front of the Sun, you can see it as a tiny black dot silhouetted against the Sun's disk. Because Mercury is so small and far away from Earth, you need a telescope or binoculars with a proper Sun filter to see it. And don't forget: Never look directly at the Sun without adequate eye protection. |
