This image perfectly captures the Moon illusion, the mysterious phenomenon which makes the Moon look huge when it is close to the horizon.

Penumbral phase ends - the eclipse is over

The Full Moon shines like normal again. But it may look a little bigger and brighter than normal because it is very close to being a Supermoon.

A Supermoon looks around 12% to 14% bigger than its counterpart, the Micromoon, and up to 7% bigger than an average Full Moon.
